Here’s our Netflix picks for what’s on Netflix this week. You can stream these movies directly to your Tivo:
- TV: 30ROCK, Season 1 – Funny television show featuring Saturday Night Live alum Tina Fey and actor Alec Baldwin. Each half hour episode runs just 22 minutes without commercials, so if you need a quick jolt of laughter without a lot of time invested, this show is right for you.
- TV: Tripping the Rift, Season 1-3 – This is an animated comedy, described as “raunchy” on Netflix, and they aren’t kidding. It’s rated TV-MA, so keep the kids out of the room, but you’ll enjoy the offbeat humor in this one.
- Movie: Mystery Science Theater 3000:First Spaceship on Venus – This movie from 1999 shows off the comedic fun of commenting on a bad movie, while we all watch it together. The idea seems somewhat out dated now, but catch any of these on Netflix to have some real fun.
- Movie: Water Horse: Legend of the Deep – This family film will delight everyone who watches it. Somewhat reminding us of the 1980’s Neverending Story, if only because so few truly family friendly fantasy films are made these days, catch this one with your kids. It’s intelligent and fun to watch.
- Movie: Fido – This somewhat strange, off beat zombie comedy stars Carrie-Ann Moss, and focuses on a boy and his pet zombie. You don’t have to like zombie movies to laugh, but you’ll enjoy it more if you like Romero films.
