Here’s our picks for the best things to instantly watch on Netflix streaming this week:
- Movie: Night of the Living Dead – George A. Romero’s classic zombie picture that really gave birth to the undead craze of today is available now for instant streaming. Yes, it was low budget and campy, but it’s still a good watch with under tones of 1960’s commentary.
- Movie: Step Brothers – This is probably one of the less well received Will Ferrell movies, but it has it’s share of good laughs so we are recommending it. John C. Reilly, who is funny in his own right, stars along Ferrell as they play two competing brothers still living at home.
- Movie: Oh, God! - George Burns and John Denver star in this classic comedy about a grocery store assistant manager who God (Burns) decides to contact. No one believes Denver’s character, until a trial is set up to decide whose telling the truth. If you never seen it, watch it. If you watched it years ago, watch it again.
- TV: Unforgivable Blackness – This PBS documentary tells the story of Jack Johnson, the first black man to win the world heavyweight title. Directed by film maker Ken Burns, this is a must watch.
- TV: Crime & Punishment - This 1979 BBC production is a miniseries based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s classic story. John Hurt stars, and it’s hard for us to pass anything by with him in it, so we’re recommending you check this one out. (Be ready for some hefty dialogue though, we’re talking the BBC here).
