Top 5 – Netflix Best Martial Arts Flicks

by Wade Arnold on September 13, 2009

This week we examine the best Martial Arts Flicks available on Netflix Instant Watch:

  1. The Karate Kid – Okay, we know, this isn’t a ‘true’ martial arts movie in the Bruce Lee sense, but it’s a classic so cut us some slack. You can’t beat this moving tale about a boy who learns about Karate and life.
  2. Silent Rage – A 1982 classic starring Chuck Norris. Yes, its pretty campy and predictable, but still shows Chuck in his prime, and before Walker: Texas Ranger.
  3. Legend of the Red Dragon – This 1994 movie stars Jet Li. It focuses on a warrior and his son who wander China defending the defenseless. Good stuff.
  4. Showdown in Little Tokyo – Brandon Lee’s first major American theatrical release. Also stars Dolph Lundgren. Since we can’t find any Bruce Lee movies yet, we’ll go with this one as a must watch.
  5. Double Impact – We know, it’s a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, which means it’s campy, the acting is cardboard, and the story is thin. (Van Damme plays both parts of separated twins who are out for revenge.) But how could we have a Top 5 without him? Check it out!
