I guess all the complaining about various aspects of internet service in the U.S. is nothing compared to Australia. From this news account I guess metered service is common there. (Might I speculate that some ISPs in the U.S. are thinking why it shouldn’t be more common here?) Regardless, Tivo is making some deals with Australian based ISPs to make sure customers get the access they need for their Tivos.
The unmetered option from iiNet marks another coup for TiVo subscribers who also have similar deals from the likes of Optus, Internode and AAPT – making TiVo one of the few Video On Demand services devliered via the Internet in Australia with a comprehensive number of ISPs offering unmetered downloads.
If there are any Australian readers (and Tivo owners) out there, are you getting what you need in internet service?
